Product Details

I love creating and hand crafting my reimagined version of my ancestral Pueblo peoples style of jewelry.  My inspiration comes from them using shells that were brought to Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde and other ancestral throughout the southwest.  My work here consists of a specific type of Glycemeris shell that was used and inlayed with natural turquoise, Spiney Oyster shell and other types of stones from the area.  Authentic hand crafted Santo Domingo "Kewa"Pueblo heishi. Inlaid on the shell is natural Lone Mountain turquoise.  The Spiney Oyster shell represents the doorway into Chaco.  On the bottom of the Glycemeris shell I carved out the "Kiva step symbol". The three lines represent the changing of the seasons. This shell is very old and Iam fortunate to have aquired it to use in my work. My handmade sterling silver hook and eye finish the necklace. I have also added a sterling silver disc with my signature brand "LeJeune". I design and create unique pieces in honor of all my ancestral people and to keep their memory alive through my jewelry.

Authentic Santo Domingo Pueblo Jewelry designed and hand crafted by LeJeune Chavez.

Necklace measures: 21" Long end to end
